Coleman Coliseum, opened in 1968 as Memorial Coliseum and renamed in 1988, seats 15,383 for basketball. Its seating capacity doubled during the 1970s, when it also served as Tuscaloosa's main concert hall. A renovation of more than $24 million in 2005 modernized the building, and before the 2009-10 season the scoreboards behind each baseline were replaced by a single center-hung board. Look up to spot the striped ceiling made by bands of acoustical tile.
